Create a QR menu free of charge
A QR menu can be set up with MenuMonkeys free of charge and kept that way: create an account, enter the dishes, print the QR code. The free plan covers one QR code and one area, shows the menu in eight languages and carries the allergens on the dish. It does not take orders — that requires a paid plan.
Three steps to your own menu
- Create an account and name the business. No card payment is required while the free plan runs.
- Enter the dishes: name, description, price, allergens. Translation into the other languages runs automatically.
- Print the QR code. Print templates are provided, for table stands among others.
What the free plan includes, and what it does not
| Included in the free plan | Only in a paid plan |
|---|---|
| One QR code for one area | Several QR codes, one per table for instance |
| Menu in the browser, no app for guests | Ordering by the guest |
| Automatic translation into eight languages | Staff app with notifications |
| Allergens and additives on the dish | Receipt printing via a CloudPRNT printer |
| Images and print templates for the QR code | Importing an existing menu by AI from a PDF or photo |
When the free menu is enough
For a café with one counter, a takeaway or a farm shop it usually is: guests order at the counter anyway, and the menu only needs to be current and legible. It also makes sense as an interim step when the printed menu is to go but the service is not to change yet.
As soon as guests are seated and the staff would save walking if people could order without anyone coming over, view-only reaches its limit. The same applies once more than one area needs its own prices or hours, a terrace and a pool bar for example.
Is the free QR menu limited in time?
No. The free plan is permanently free and does not end after a trial. What is limited is not the time but the scope: one QR code, one area, no ordering function.
Do guests need an app to see the menu?
No. The QR code opens the menu in the phone’s browser. No download is needed and no guest account; the guest also picks the language on the menu itself.
What happens to my menu if I upgrade later?
It stays as it is. Dishes, images, allergens and translations are already in place; a paid plan unlocks additional QR codes, areas and the ordering function. Nobody has to enter anything again.
Can I import an existing menu from a PDF?
The AI import from a PDF or photo belongs to the paid plans. On the free plan the dishes are entered by hand — with a small menu that is a quarter of an hour’s work.
Plans with an ordering function start at €39 a month and cover 20 QR codes there; every plan can be tried free of charge for 14 days.
