Digital menu with an ordering function
A digital menu with an ordering function takes the order where the guest is sitting: they scan the QR code at the table, choose in the browser and send the order off. It appears with the table it belongs to in the staff app, or prints on a receipt printer. No till system is needed for this, and the guest needs neither an app nor an account.
How it runs, from the scan to the receipt
- The guest scans the QR code at their place. Which place it is sits in the code — table, sunlounger or room.
- They see the menu in their language, choose and send the order. No download, no sign-in.
- The order appears in the staff app at once and announces itself by notification, even on a locked screen.
- Where a CloudPRNT receipt printer stands, it prints in the kitchen or at the bar as well — with no till and no computer in between.
What changes in the business
- Walking drops away: taking the order at the table goes, serving stays.
- Questions about allergens go down, because the entries sit on the dish and appear in the guest’s language.
- The menu is current the moment it is changed. A sold-out dish can be hidden instead of explained thirty times.
- Several areas carry their own menus and hours — restaurant, terrace and pool bar for instance, each with its own QR codes.
When the plain menu remains the better choice
Whoever orders at the counter gains nothing from an ordering function: the guest is standing in front of the staff anyway. With very small menus of three dishes, the effort of changing over outweighs the gain as well. In both cases the free view-only menu is the right fit.
Do guests have to install an app to order?
No. Ordering runs in the phone’s browser, with no download and no guest account. There is an app only for the staff, and even that is not fetched from a store but opened from the home screen.
Do I need a till system or a computer on site?
No. The orders appear in the staff app on a phone or tablet you already have. If a receipt is to print as well, a CloudPRNT printer fetches its jobs over the internet by itself — with no till, no computer and no open ports on the network.
How does the kitchen know which table an order belongs to?
The place sits in the QR code. Every table, sunlounger and room has its own code, and the order carries that detail from the outset — nobody has to add it afterwards.
Can guests pay, or only order?
Ordering happens in the browser; settling up happens in the business as usual. For hotels, room orders can be handed over as a file for the hotel software so that they reach the room bill.
The ordering function starts at €39 a month with 20 QR codes; every plan can be tried free of charge for 14 days.
